Characteristics of Green-Skin Pomelo

When ripe, the peel is green to slightly yellow-green, easy to peel and quite thin (14-18mm), the pink-red pomelo segments are tightly packed and easily separated from the peel.

The name Tan Trieu came to this land in a very special way. According to an old story, Nguyen Anh, during a trip to the West, named this fertile land Tan Trieu, meaning new court, symbolizing the dynasty he temporarily established in the South.
Later, foreign missionaries brought pomelo varieties from the tropical land of Brazil to Tan Trieu. When they saw that this pomelo variety grew well and bore a lot of fruit, people took cuttings and brought them back to plant. After that, perhaps the sun, wind and special soil of Tan Trieu island contributed to creating the famous Tan Trieu pomelo variety that is known everywhere today.
